Lox Lane Christian Encounter Centre ....

...is set in beautiful surroundings in the heart of the North Dorset countryside, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The 19th century farmhouse and courtyard have been sympathetically and lovingly converted, maintaining many of the original features. Lox Lane Farm is situated between Gillingham and Shaftesbury, 10 minutes from A303 and 5 minutes from Gillingham train station.

Lox Lane Farm is owned by Father’s House, Shaftesbury and shares the vision of seeing people’s hearts healed and spiritual needs met. It is an ideal place to take time out from the pressures of life and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the glory of God’s creation. An organiser of a men’s group which comes every year describes it as a ‘place of grace’.

The centre provides facilities for Church groups of 15 - 45 people fully catered, in twin or double rooms, for retreats and conferences. Our resident chef cooks all of the food from scratch, producing delicious traditional dishes, generous portions and amazing desserts!! She does her best to cater for dietary needs, as long as she knows ahead of time! For smaller groups, we offer a self-catering option in our Farmhouse (see Lox Lane Farmhouse).

Each room is en-suite with all the linen and towels provided and complimentary tea and coffee. There is free wi-fi access throughout the whole complex. It is a versatile venue with 3 large well equipped meeting rooms to choose from, complete with drinks and multi-media facilities. We can accommodate up to 70 people in the largest meeting room and approximately 30 in the ‘Upper Room’ and the Farmhouse Garden Room. Also other smaller rooms for ‘breakout’ sessions.

The farm is set within 6 acres of land, so there is a lot of space to stroll around the paths and enjoy God’s creation. There is a bird hide for the keen wildlife spotters: if you’re lucky, you might see the barn owl! We also have a volleyball net, children’s fort and plenty of space for ball games.

As part of the site we have Lox Lane Farmhouse, which can be rented for holiday and retreats

This lovely late 19th century farmhouse is the ideal place for a relaxing, self-catered holiday with your family, friends or small group. As well as the garden room there is also is a cosy sitting room with a TV and a fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances including a dishwasher.

The farmhouse is accessible for wheelchairs and has two double ground floor rooms, one of which has an en-suite wet room.
