Cardigan Coastal Cottages comprises three high-quality converted barns and a farmhouse in 7 acres overlooking Cardigan Bay, in an unspoilt area, between the fabulous sandy beaches of Aberporth and Mwnt. It is brilliant for dolphin/bird-spotting from the coastal path, which is accessible by following the footpath outside the farmyard.

The views of Cardigan Bay are stunning, as are the sunsets. Cardigan is a few miles away, near the mouth of the Aberteifi and is a slightly quirky, homely town. It has a state-of-the-art theatre with cinema, the Cellar Bar that offers poetry evenings, live music and open-mic nights; Cardigan Castle, the Small World Theatre, pubs and restaurants. Crossing into Pembrokeshire, St David's is a "must". Ferries cross from Fishguard to Ireland. There are many outdoor activities with a golf course on the cliffs at Gwbert, fishing on the Teifi, coasteering, mountain biking, beach riding ... and much more.

Ceredigion is completely unspoilt with plenty for birdwatchers, bikers and walkers. Aberaeron is a short drive up the coast with its famous restaurant and harbour. The Preseli mountains are also nearby. This is one of the only places in the UK where you can see the Milky Way as there is no light pollution.

There is very little public transport in winter but we are happy to transport guests. In the summer the Cardi Bach buses run regularly along the coast into Pembrokeshire and in Pembrokeshire you can board the Poppit Rocket . Bikes can be hired from Cardigan.

The large barn, Ysgubor Mawr, is very well equipped, all bedrooms being ensuite with TV/DVD. There is a garden at the rear, overlooking fields. There is a ramp up to the barn and a downstairs bedroom (a kingsize bed that can be split) with wet room and a seat in the shower, with doorways suitable for a wheelchair. In one of the family rooms extra trundle beds can be used, making the maximum number of persons 16. There is a wood-burner in the corner of the vast living area, making this nevertheless a cosy space to curl up in after a day on the beach or walk on the coastal path. (We provide the first basket of logs and following that there is the normal charge of £5 per basket.)

The small barn, Beudy Bach is a small cosy cottage sleeping 2-4 (see below). The cottage kitchen, which is separate from the living room, is well equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave. There is a garden at the rear (not enclosed), overlooking fields. There is a sofa-bed in the living room, but please note that upstairs is open plan to the bedroom and the bathroom, so anyone sleeping downstairs on the sofa-bed will be accessing the bathroom in the upstairs bedroom space.

The Old Farmhouse has a large comfortable living area with large TV/DVD player, and plenty of DVDs to play; there is also a wood-burner and a piano. The property sleeps 12-14. There are five bedrooms, the downstairs bedroom being en-suite; otherwise there are two double rooms and two bunk rooms (one with two adult-size bunk beds, so sleeping 4, and one with a double bunk for two children, with a single bed (and a trundle should your party want to squeeze in an extra person).   The bathroom has a double-ended bath with shower over. There is a garden at the rear, overlooking fields.

The hostel (Piggery Poke) has a 5-person en-suite room (5 single beds) and two other en-suite rooms sleeping 8 (4 double bunks) and 3 (triple bunk). The hostel sleeps 16 in total. Bed linen and towels are provided. The hostel is modern and well equipped with a range cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are plenty of books and games (but no TV).

A damage deposit of £200 is payable on arrival for Ysgubor Mawr and Piggery Poke (group bookings only), returned within seven days.

Catering can be arranged.

Bike storage/transportation and luggage transfer are also available.

We welcome dogs but they must be kept on a lead in the communal areas and de-flea'd before arrival. There is plenty of space for exercising. There is a charge of £20 per dog, payable on arrival. We respectfully ask that dogs are not left alone in a property at any time. They are not allowed upstairs. Any dog mess left in the communal areas should be scooped up and disposed of. Dogs in the hostel are only permitted if a single group takes the hostel.

Guests are welcome to relax in the garden (not enclosed) or use the dog-walking field.

We live on site and are available for as much or as little contact as our guests would like. We are happy to provide advice on places to visit and eat.

PS Tesco will deliver.
